At the time of transition, Lessie was under watch care at Destiny Worship Center International Ministries, where she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and served faithfully as Team Destiny’s Ministry Mother. Early in life, Lessie joined the Forest Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She was educated in the Vienna Georgia School System. Lessie was born in Vienna Georgia on July 20, 1945, to the late Lessie Mae Burden Mathis and the late Lawrence Arthur Mathis.
